Lies about magical wonders of childhood traditions, i.e., Christman and Easter. These are not childhood traditions - they are ADULT traditions forced on children that ADULTS want to play with. Until the ADULTS start lying, the child is innocent.

Lying to your children to justify your decisions as a parent is never o.k. Let your yes mean "yes" and your no mean "no"! Answer their questions honestly, and their questions only. Do not elaborate with more than they ask. If you don't have the answer, say so, then get it. But get it honest!

Lies do not come in colors! A lie is a lie - period! If total honesty is not possible - then silence certainly is. Those who lie are dysfunctional, show complete lack of responsibility for themselves and others, and is completely selfish.
